Melissa Romero is Dual Language Exemplary Middle School Math Teacher at El Camino Real Academy in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has taught middle school mathematics for 12 years and has facilitated national, district and school wide workshops in mathematics. Her goals as an educator are to change students’ attitudes toward mathematics, build math confidence, improve student achievement and create a desirable math classroom where students, “love math”. She’s always developing ways to improve her teaching skills and surrounds herself with experienced and outstanding colleagues. She is the founder of a student-led tutoring program "Inspire Math Leadership" at El Camino Real Academy where middle school students are trained to support teachers and tutor younger students in the area of mathematics.
