Heather Danforth-Clayson began her teaching career working with low-income students through Teach for America, then earned her MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver. After graduation, she served as a gifted and talented coordinator for Park County School District #6 in Cody, WY. She has taught for more than ten years and currently serves as a Director of Curriculum at Helios School, a K-8 school for gifted children in Sunnyvale, CA. At Helios School, she co-develops curriculum, provides support and mentorship in the math program, and coaches teachers. She is a finalist for the Rosenthal Prize for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching. She loves math and Shakespeare (among other things), and enjoys participating in Math Teachers' Circles at the American Institute of Mathematics in San Jose, CA.
