Students learn better when they are in the driver’s seat, but letting kids drive can sometimes seem terrifying!
This session will help you understand the components to creating engaging lessons where students are doing the heavy-lifting. We will model an engaging mini-lesson, deconstruct the mini-lesson to distill out the elements that make it engaging, and brainstorm strategies for implementation in individual classrooms. You'll leave with a list of engagement strategies and the beginnings of your own engaging activity.
